Dedicated Leader for a Safer Community
My name is Juanita “Nina” Daniels, and I’m running for Sheriff of Pasquotank County because I believe leadership is defined by service, not a title. “Building Trust. Strengthening Community.” has guided me throughout my life and my law enforcement career.

I was raised here in Pasquotank County, graduating from Pasquotank County High School. This community shaped who I am, giving me my values, my purpose, and a love for the people I now serve. I went on to East Carolina University, earning a degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Child Psychology, preparing me to make a meaningful impact in law enforcement.

I began my career with the Pasquotank County Sheriff’s Office, proudly serving over a decade in the Civil Process and School Resource Officer Divisions. I was honored to become the first female Sergeant to lead a division and later promoted to Lieutenant, gaining invaluable experience in public safety, youth engagement, and community partnership. These roles showed me how trust and strong relationships between law enforcement and the community strengthen and protect our county.

I live here with my husband, Eric, and our two children. Our family enjoys hunting, fishing, outdoor activities, and supporting local youth sports, where Eric volunteers as a coach. These experiences remind me daily of the values that shape who I am—as a parent, a community member, and a leader.

I am running for Sheriff to serve the people of Pasquotank County with integrity, transparency, and compassion. This campaign is about the community, not politics—it’s about listening, building trust, and ensuring every resident feels valued, supported, and safe.
